Oh, how I wish we could
Decay in our slumbers
As skeletons live in the walls
And not even vampires
Would ever hurt us.

We are walking among dreams
Thinking nothing, feeling nothing
Nothing but the bare ache of the world.

We are doing this to ourselves
-no man shall it ever see-
Praise the divergent ones,
We are what they call decent.

As separated as it could get
We sleep next to each other
In our grim clothes
Because the world
Could gnaw on our ankles
Should we dare
To touch darkened corners.

That’s senseless-
Because all the reckless eyes
Throw their procrastinations
At our strangled feet.

Between two souls
In a dimmed room

The thorns of reality

some people lament when it comes to that moment of the day or night when we fall to dreams and sleep. dear sarah, yesterday I tried to swallow the sun. it burned me up on the inside until even my skin was hot to the touch, and I thought of you.
